So, who the hell is Mykal Bloom?

+ why should I care what he has to say?

Who am I? Well, I can tell you much like Alicia Keys, Vin Diesel, or even Perez Hilton, my real name isn’t Mykal Bloom. It’s close though. My real name is pretty boring, I know that so I tried for something better. Not too long ago I finally watched those Pirate movies everyone seemed to be talking about, and was shocked to discover how fucking gorgeous Orlando Bloom really is. So, when thinking of a super-awesome alias, I naturally took his last name and coupled it with a fun variation on Michael.

I’m a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I worked like a dog throughout high school to get into a great school. I was Yale-bound. But when faced with the idea of leaving home, it scared the shit out of me, so I chose a school two hours away; But I’m happy where I am. [Most days.]

I live in a cramped dorm by myself, but I’m the adviser, so my room is bigger than most, and I get my own bathroom. When you share a hall with 700 other people, having your own bathroom is more coveted than you can image. But believe it or not, I am in charge of a floor of freshman residents. Some crazy shit, I know.

On most weekdays you can find me on campus, usually on the quad, with an iced tea in one hand, and my cellphone in the other. Oh, and Gummi Bears. I live off Gummi Bears.

As for this blog, well, it’s pretty new. Started in March of 08. I write here what interests me.

I started out writing about celebrities and their crazy antics. And that carried me for awhile, but as evident by the dwindling number of posts, I lost interest with a quickness. Celebrity antics are better left for Michael K.

So I decided to write what really interested me: myself. Vain, I know. But to be honest with you, I think my life is far more interesting than anything Hollywood could produce. Ever.
